We're a relatively new site in the chess community but we work on expanding our user base.

Here's an interview with one of our beginner players:

I don't get why it says I lost?

If you don't see why it says you lost then make a screenshot of the position or save the PGN, then play some more games and repeat this process and then analyze them and look at the one thing they have in common. It should be obvious pretty soon.

What is this for?

What? For playing chess of course. You might also be interested in puzzles.

Black just made an illegal move!?

If black truly made an illegal move... the arbiter should have spotted it. If the arbiter didn't spot it then you should've notified the arbiter. If you didn't notify the arbiter then by FIDE rules you accept the 'illegal' move as legal.

How do I get the LM title?

The LM title is a special title on Lichess. All players that have an LM title on Lichess can chose to display it on Leechess.

How do I get the HM title?

You don't get the HM (Honorary Master) title. The HM title gets you. We award this title at our own discretion to players who fulfill the following norms:

• Must have at least 69 rated games
• Must have at least a rating of 420
• Must have won one game using the Bongcloud Attack
• Must have done something significant
• Must have had some impact on the Chess community
• Must be at least 18 years old

I have a FIDE title. How can I display it so others can see it?

To display your FIDE title we require a verification and you need to have Leechess Premium.

I'm constantly losing. How can I improve?

To improve your best option is to solve puzzles and get Leechess Premium.

Why is this called Leechess?

Hu? Like what? You don't know what Leechess are? Did you miss your biology classes?

Wont people confuse Leechess with Lichess?

No! What the **** are you talking about? It's LEEchess vs. LIchess? Do you see the difference there? Lichess has a knight as a logo we have a bishop as a logo. Totally not the same thing. Bishops don't move like knights! And just like bishops are better than knights leeches are better than liches.

I'm a human with money. How can we sponsor Leechess?

We will think about such options in the future but it can't hurt to contact us!

My analysis tool won't accept the PGN from this site?

This is because this site uses a slightly improved version of PGN which doesn't use O-O for castling. Castling is denoted by for example Ke1g1 (short) or Ke1c1 (long). Other edge cases are pawn promotions which are handled differently.

No, it doesn't. Think of it as playing a variant of chess that has an additional win condition. You'll figure it out by yourself after a few games... or not.

Is there actually a Leechess Premium?

Yes. But obviously you won't get some of the perks listed in the pricing table. And we don't actually sell it. We're not really a business. There is however a Leechess Premium. With Leechess Premium you can play under your own account instead of Unregistered.

YES. There really is a Leechess Premium.

Is there actually a Stickfosh?

"Yes". It's a pretty bad AI but it works for this purpose. It doesn't even look more than one move ahead.
